Mary had begged her father and me to make her birthday this year as memorable as possible. SHe was turning six years already and we couldn’t believe how much time had flown by. Mary loved to feast on pizza. Every week on Wednesday was our pizza day. We would order in, and eat two different flavors of pizza. My husband was also a great fan of cooking. Whenever he had some free time, he would enclose himself in the kitchen to make a mouth watering meal for the family. He had influenced our daughter, and even though there were many birthday theme for girls that we could use for this party, she simply wanted to cook pizza with her father. I hoped to make the party as visually appetizing as possible.
The invitations to the party were aprons that were customized with the details of the party printed on the back of the apron. On the front of the apron, it was printed “Patrick’s Pizzeria.” I had gotten the unique idea when I searched on the internet for kids party ideas that I could use to turn his party into an un-forgettable memory. When they arrived at the party, they were dressed like little Italian chefs. They were looking very adorable in their outfits and small chef hats. The girls’ hats were different from the boys.
We decorated the living room with pinky colors. We used pink and white streamers and balloons to drape around the ceilings and walls. We also got some posters of an Italian chef image with a moustache. I had to make sure that the party had almost every element of an Italian pizzeria. The ceiling was also draped with wooden cooking sticks, rolling pins. I also changed my curtains for the day, and draped pink and white curtains that I had customized and purchased.
Food and Drinks
The food consisted mainly of pizza in different flavors from barbeque to pepperoni, bacon and sausages and others. The kids also enjoyed some sweet delights like Oreo biscuits, marshmallows, red velvet cupcakes and others. There was also some ice cream, yoghurt, and chocolate pudding too. The drinks at the party included lemonade, soda, and cranberry juice. There was also bottled drinking water and hot chocolate for those who preferred hot drinks with their pizza. I displayed the food on wooden kitchen carts that I bought online.
Games and Activities
I was glad to find some games that the kids could play when I searched for birthday theme for boys. They played a game called “pizza hole” which consisted of the players throwing a beanbag through a hole in the pizza carton that hang from the ceiling. They also had fun baking their own personalized flavored pizzas. They also played “Pin the moustache on the chef.”
The kids carried goodie bags that were filled with “little Italy” coloring books, and chocolate candy. They also went home with boxes of pizza too.
