The invitations were easy to set, having birthday party ideas for teenagers. We purchased some glow-in-the dark paint cans from a home improvement stores and paint pens. It was anything that would bring glamour in relation to neon theme. Using small paint brushes or pens, the glow-in-the dark neon paint was used to outline the details of the birthday party on black papers. This included the date, time and the venue/place and suggestions of what to wear that stands out in the dark.We sent the invitation cards in the evening and suggested them to be strictly opened in a dark place.
So as to really make the neon birthday party pop,for the decorations, we setup of a few black lights in the basement and other dark rooms. The glow sticks and various shapes werehanged from the ceiling and walls as decorations. We also had brightly colored graffiti T-shirts and clothing’s to be worn in the venue. Neon painted graffiti which werecolorful was done on the walls with birthday themes.
Food and drinks
Neon foods were not that easy to get, and such a party wouldn’t have gone without snacks, food and drink. A buffet- style was convenient for the mingling and also dancing teens. The chef prepared; nachos, chips and dip, fruit and vegetable kebabs, cookies, butterfly garden cake. Hawaiian pizza pops were in the menu. Neon food coloring was also used to tint the frosting for the cakes and cupcakes to keep up with the theme. We turned out the lights all throughout the party to give the neon effect.
Since we couldn’t afford the neon plates and utensils, we arranged the normal plates, cups and utensils with the neon glow sticks in between on designated dining tables.
Games and activities
To have fun with the games, we created neon murals while we turned out the light and watched them glow in the dark. The teens loved it and danced to some genre of music while waving neon glow sticks around. It made it so electric. Glow paint was applied on the guest’s faces in different styles, fancy images and birthday party-inspired messages and pictures. To finish it all up glossy neon painted mazes and puzzles can be played on the floor.
The glow sticks, t-shirts, neon plate’s cups and utensils were taken home as take away gift packs.
