Alvin was to be my second child’s name! Well, I was extremely excited striking the natural balance of two lionesses and 2 lions in the house. It is for this reason that I decided to throw him a baby shower and different from the first time; a boy’s. Since boys are huge fans of animals, we decided to have our theme as frogs, bears, and puppy dogs. This theme, green and brown, was among the numerous baby shower ideas that characterized the soon to be Alvin’s bedroom colors. I also spiced up the place with frogs, teddy bears, and dogs on top of cute stationary.
With the help of my baby daddy, we drafted and printed up all the necessary baby shower party information, stuffed it in matching envelopes, and closed them with matching stickers. These did not eat up substantial funds as I used simple and readily affordable paper. I used an occasional table to craft a sign in table where I also placed ‘WELCOME’ cards inside envelopes and had one family member writing down their address information on the envelope .
This was a low profile baby shower. By that I mean that all the baby shower ideas revolved around a small budget; I did not want to host an extravagant party yet more was to come after my prince’s birthday. For that reason, my decorations consisted of brown alpha stickers consisting of singular letters stuck on the belly of each frog and teddy bear. Additionally, I knew boys are fans of nature, thus I collected some clothespins and clipped foams cut out to the ribbon to craft a banner that I hung between to candelabras to give it the impression of an island. I saw it necessary to include dozens of balloons as they never fail in making a party lively; a baby shower being no exception. I also scattered confetti all over my artificial island, counter tops, and tables. For the gift box, I had created a carton with several teddy bears spelling the name ‘GIFT BOX’.
Food and Drinks
I took time to seek baby shower ides about the most matching drinks and snacks for a baby shower. Since it was a warm day, ice cream was a priority. Champagne and various juice flavors filled the tables. I also designed animal like muffins, and a big cake symbolizing a happily pregnant woman almost due; for the sober reason that unborn boys are normally a burden in the womb (on a lighter note).
Games and Activities
There were endless baby shower games and activities. The diaper game was the most enjoyable where I melt candy inside a diaper and the guests were given the task of determining what kind of candy it is. We had two more games like baby naming and hide and seek which saw guests get jovial.
The baby shower party favors were green and cream gift bags a floral print or striped print; each containing coconut lime lotion and shower gel inside a mini purse. There was also a plastic magnetic picture frame engraved the words ‘thank you’.
