My brother was obsessed with motorcycles since he was a teenager. He had knowledge on motorbikes from the makes, to the engine types and others. When he turned eighteen years, he bought himself a motor bike with money he had saved. Our parents were scared at first, but they soon adapted to the situation. Now years later, my brother was married and he still used his motorcycle to get around. His 30th birthday was just around the corner, and his wife Nancy enlisted my help to plan his party. I checked the internet for 30th birthday party ideas that we could use to plan the party. In the end though, we settled on a 30th birthday party idea that we knew he would love- a motorcycle theme.
The invitation cards were shaped like motor vehicle helmets, with my brother’s picture on the top. The edges of the cards had orange flame designs drawn on them, to represent the Harley Davidson logo. Inside the card, details of the party were written which included the venue and time. Each guest was stamped with a temporary tattoo on their wrist.
The party was based on a Harley Davidson motorcycle theme party. The colors that I chose to decorate the rooms with included orange and black. I used orange and black balloons and streamers to decorate the walls and ceilings of the room. I printed our orange flame posters and draped them on the walls. The table was decorated with miniature Harley Davidson Motorcycles. The table cloth was of leather material with orange flames printed on it. The walls were also draped with posters of bikers in leather jackets and helmets too. The event wouldn’t have been complete without some good country music and rock and roll. The guests were also given polka dot bandannas which they tied around their wrist, and some of them tied them around the front part of their necks.
Food and Drinks
The party foods were simple platters of barbecued burgers, sausages, chicken and other meats. There was also pizza, and baked beans in the food package. For the birthday cake, we had it designed like a Harley Davidson motorcycle in black and silver colors. On the side of the cake were checkered flags and orange flames. The drinks for the party included beers in varied types such as stouts, lagers, and ales.
Games and Activities
The guests had a great time riding on Mark’s motorbike under his supervision. They also danced the night away to the rock music that blasted from the speakers that we had set up for the party. They also played mock guitar and drumming to the tunes of the songs that played from the home theatre. There was also the tire roll game, which made some of our friends realize how physically unfit they were. We also played bowling with empty soda bottles.
The guests left the party carrying gift bags filled with bandannas, sunglasses, temporary tattoos and Harley Davidson stickers.
